Some prefer a walk to the nearest museum, some prefer to browse the image galleries online, some prefer to spend time infront of television and some prefer to read a good book. Any of these things can help them come with new ideas that are inspiring them to do something new.
Looking for inspiration does not mean that a designer is looking for work that they can duplicate. Actually it means that they are looking for things that provoke their brain and inspire them to find beauty inside their imagination. It is really a very difficult concept to explain but once an artists gets it they are never lacking the ideas for the new creative designs.
